But this takes that logic to an extreme and horrid conclusion. The devil actually seems rather sane compared to Gabriel, an angel out to avenge … actually, his rage isn’t clarified. Does it need to be?
The human drama involves some humans as they attempt to block Gabriel killing a small girl. The devil helps them out. One of Walken's best performances but intended only for the strong.
